Why should you seriously consider the Blizzak tires as your choice this upcoming winter season? Well, the justifications are many. Consider this: Blizzak tires are considered to be ahead of the pack because of their many innovations. One innovation is the patented Multicell® rubber compound. If you study this compound through a microscope, you will see that the rubber almost look like Swiss cheese because it contains thousands of pores and cells. The pores are evenly distributed throughout the rubber compound so, as the tire wears; new pores are constantly being exposed. They form biting edges that grip the road surface. The pores also absorb the film of water that often develops on top of icy roads, allowing the biting edges to stick directly to the surface. Bridgestone produces this patented Multicell® compound only at three plants in the world.

The Blizzak is a dual compound (cap and base) tire. The cap features the Multicell* compound, and the base is a winter compound, which allows you to use the tire as a basic winter tire. When the Blizzak is down to a 50 percent wear, a snow platform in the tire tread lets you know that only ten percent of the remaining tread remains. Most winter tires require a break-in period, but Bridgestone has added a special cross riblet surface to aid traction when the Blizzak tire is new. There are also the exclusive “TRACPOINT” zig-zag tire sipes, to assist with ice grip, These are thousands of little sipes, which provide more edges in the tread pattern to grip the snow and aid in pumping out water when things start to melt off a bit. As you well know, more and more state and local governments outlaw the use of studded snow tires in order to protect against road damage. The Blizzak offers you the perfect solution because it is studless, yet it delivers excellent traction, both on ice and snow. The Blizzak DM-Z3, WS-50, WS60, Blizzak W965, Blizzak MZ-03 and Winter Dueler tires contain Multicell® compound. The Blizzak LM-18, LM-22, LM-25 and LM-25 4×4 tires do not contain Multicell® compound, only a conventional winter driving compound. If you live in an area where you are exposed to both icy and snowy conditions, the Blizzak™ line of tires may be just the right choice for you.
